Many interesting discoveries can be made on a tour of the Erbacher Hof.
It starts with the building itself, with its famous roof structure and artistic architecture. We have dedicated a separate page to this total work of art, where you can also read and understand the thoughts of the architect Lothar Willius.
The centrepieces of the Erbacher Hof are the two chapels - the Marienkapelle and the Bernhardkapelle. Both are located directly next to each other in the old building of Erbacher Hof. The small Marienkapelle itself is a true work of art. Its walls are adorned with murals that were painted in the middle of the 13th century. Some of them are only fragmentarily preserved, but some biblical motifs are easily recognisable and make us forget the time while looking at them.
Our Bernhard Chapel houses a whole series of special pieces. One eye-catcher is the triptych by glass artist Karl Heinz Traut. It is placed behind the altar and, measuring 4.50 metres by 2.50 metres, lends the entire chapel a solemn atmosphere and enchanting light.
But there is also art to discover outside the chapels. For example, our lounge is watched over by Bonifatius - a bronze figure by the artist Karlheinz Oswald. In the conference rooms and in the inner courtyard, too, one repeatedly encounters his works in the form of various busts representing the namesakes of the conference rooms.
Thus, the entire building is peppered with small and large sights that make the Erbacher Hof unique and a visit very entertaining.
