Friends of Biblical Message of Marc Chagall in Mainz eV

Foundation

The association was founded on January 13, 2000.

Purpose and mission (according to § 2 of the statutes)

The mission of the association is to spread "Biblical message of Marc Chagall", especially to promote the concept in St. Stephen's Church.
"Biblical Message of Marc Chagall" means: conveying the message of the Bible with its picturesque means of expression and in its interpretation of the Biblical texts to people as visitors of the church and beyond.
The purpose of the association is achieved by conducting meditations, guided tours, lectures and other events in St. Stephen's Church, or it cooperates in activities which provide access to the work of Marc Chagall and his religious statements; further on, the association offers publications on the Chagall windows at its magazine stand in St. Stephen's Church.
The association has also the purpose to contribute to the conservation and preservation of the windows as precious works of art.
